36-120 Munroe Street
Lynn, Massachusetts

Goldblock was a mixed-use development project located nine miles north of Boston in Lynn, Massachusetts. Between 1999 and 2004, Oasis Development Enterprises developed a strategically-located, two-acre parcel along Munroe Street on behalf of its investors, with the hope of being a catalyst in the redevelopment of the downtown Empowerment Zone.

PHASE I – The renovation of the Tolman and Belkin buildings was completed in 2001 and sold to Munroe Partners LLC in 2010.  The building currently houses The Daily Item, among other tenants.

PHASE II – The renovation of the 35,000 sf Sherry Building (formerly the Goldberg Furniture store) into condominiums was completed in 2004, resulting in nineteen residential condos in the upper four floors and four office condominiums on the ground floor on the Munroe Street side. For more info., please see 'The Sherry Building'.

PHASE III – The acquisition and demolition of the Tucker Building (former Lynn Hardware) in 2004 marked the final stage in preparing this 16,000 sf site for redevelopment.  This site housed an urban garden tended by the Food Project.

The Sherry Building

70 Munroe Street
Lynn, Massachusetts
The Sherry Building consists of 35,000 square feet of commercial and residential space in a five-story brick structure which used to house the Goldberg Furniture Building. The property was land banked from 1995 to 2001, after which time Oasis began a major redevelopment of the building as part of Phase II of the Goldblock Redevelopment Project.

The ground floor was converted into four office condominiums while the upper four floors were developed into 19 residential one- and two-bedroom units, now known as the Sherry Block Condominiums. Like the Tolman and Belkin buildings, the Sherry building is exceptionally well located, just one block from the MBTA Commuter Rail station and within a two-block radius of groceries, laundry services, banks and restaurants. On-site parking is available to all condominium owners in a dedicated parking lot off Oxford Street.  For more info contact Harvest Properties, the building’s manager.

Gordon-In-Lynn Urban Community Programs

120 Munroe Street
Lynn, Massachusetts

Through Oasis’ in-kind charitable program, Gordon College’s “Gordon-In-Lynn” program had taken residence in 1,500 square feet of office space and seven dormitory-style residential units at the Tolman & Belkin buildings on Munroe Street . In a partnership between Gordon College and the City of Lynn, Gordon-in-Lynn was a groundbreaking program that sought to build relationships with various community organizations where students were able to learn and serve in a diverse, urban community. Since 2004, this program brought together over 600 college students, faculty members and 20 non-profit organizations for a variety of community-building projects in the city of Lynn.

The Food Project

Based on the results of a 2006 private criteria-based study performed by Oasis Development Enterprises, the Food Project in Lynn was chosen to be a recipient of in-cash donations and in-kind support. The Food Project is a Boston-based nonprofit whose mission is to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. The boys and girls involved in The Food Project come to understand the impact of hard manual labor while learning commerce, economics and the concept of value. Participants in the programs run by the Food Project plant, harvest and sell half their fresh produce in local farmers markets and donate the other half local soup kitchens and food pantries. Their goal is to provide healthy food that is affordable for anyone in the community.

Covenant Christian Academy

83 Pine Street
West Peabody, Massachusetts

In August 2005, through Oasis’ in-kind rent subsidy program, Covenant Christian Academy was able to lease 40,000 square feet of space at 83 Pine Street in West Peabody on a “free rent” basis. Formed in 1991 by a group of parents, CCA’s mission is to build students’ academic, spiritual, and social foundations while challenging them to realize their God-given potential. Oasis donated funds for tenant improvements, project management fees, leasing commissions, and legal and accounting costs, as well as subsidizing their lease payments totaling over one million dollars in support of CCA’s vision to become the flagship K-12 Christian education in the North Shore area of Boston.

Campus Crusade for Christ

10 Milk Street
Boston, Massachusetts

In 2005, Campus Crusade for Christ had been looking to relocate to a prime downtown Boston location in order to better serve the University students in the Boston Area. However, the high rents made it virtually unaffordable. Through Oasis’ in-kind charitable program, Campus Crusade moved into its prime downtown “dream office space” at 10 Milk Street in Boston on June 1, 2005.

Vision New England Headquarters

85 Constitution Lane
Danvers, Massachusetts

Vision New England is a 120-year-old Boston-based 501c(3) organization which had recently undergone a major ministry makeover, resulting in a vision of “the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole New England region”. During the reorganization process, VNE made the decision to relocate its headquarters. After almost two years of planning, through the Oasis Group’s in-kind “free-rent” program subsidy, VNE was able to lease 6,000 square feet of prime office space at the Liberty Tree Office Park in Danvers, MA, owned by East West Enterprises.
